About the play

Passover service at a secular Jewish family in the Australian suburb of Bondi. The eldest son Jacob, 18 years old, is late. The Passover service begins without him. Just after they begin Jacob arrives completely naked, and without uttering a word, sits down at the table and stays silent. Over the next half an hour, the various family members interpret his gesture. Dark farce, with six actors. Half an hour long.

‘Feast is a bright, sharply observed comedy, but Learner also mines the drama which lurks below the surface of Aaron and Ruth’s unsatisfying marriage’. – Sydney Bulletin
